Its hard to know where to begin when discussing the band
Wound2Tight. They are one of the best cover bands I have seen.
Lead vocalist Scott Hamilton has an incredible voice and range.
He has the rare ability to sound like the original singers on the
songs the band performs.
Donnie Jamieson is not only a great bass player but can also play
almost any other instrument on a professional level.
Drummer Danny Marques has impeccable timing and a knack for
the little subtleties. After hearing some of his original work, he
brings to mind the drummers from the British invasion with his
killer beats and thunderous sound.
Milton Coxs guitar rhythms are played to a T and his vocals are
outstanding.
Lead guitarist Charlie Lochner, not much to say except WOW.
He is technically sound note-for-note but does not play like a robot;
he has style and flair. These two guitarists work together as
one to make it seems as they have been playing together for at
least 20 years.
This talented band puts on an incredible show. The charisma and
energy of these guys really brings the crowd alive. They encourage
audience participation and frequently bring people on stage to
rock with them. They have a broad range of songs in their repertoire,
everything from White Snake to Metallica, and really have a
feel for what an audience wants to hear.This band also writes original music. If you will remember, Metallica
got their started as a cover band and then went national with
their originals. In my opinion, Wound2Tight has the potential to
do the same. Some of their originals are a little harder and grittier
than the covers they perform, due to the fact that the songs most
people know and want to hear arent always heavy. As a cover
band you have to give the audience what they want and
Wound2Tight gives you WHAT YOU WANT!
The vocals are great, the music is tight and their incredible light
show is second to none in Tucson. There is absolutely no let
down with Wound2Tight!
For a local band, they are true professionals. There is no doubt
seeing this band is like seeing an arena show that has been worked
on for months. There are no long breaks for tuning and equipment
change or discussions on which song will be played next. They
are self-sufficient. Unlike other local bands who depend on the
venues house equipment, Wound2Tight has their own PA with
sound man Tommy Ratt (who has worked with national acts, he is
set up in L.A. and will be featured in a future issue) to run it.
All of these components culminate in a kick ass rock show. On a
scale of 1-10, this band is a resounding 10. If you have not had
the opportunity to see Wound2Tight yet, you definitely have to
make the time. You will not regret it and you might just end up on
stage rocking with the band!
